Andy K from bldg. 968 brought his Dell laptop in with symptoms of a HD failure. At first he believed that he was backed up to the Bullfrog Terabyte located in bldg. 968. That turned out to be incorrect and after unsuccessfully trying to get the system to recognize the HD he ended up taking it over to 2-Geeks. The warranty on that machine is expired, and Andy was able to reformat another HD and get his laptop up and running. The lost data wasn't as significant as first thought; however in my mind this incident reinforces the need for a standardized backup policy for ARS
I also worked with Steve P on mapping the two computers of Linda D together. Since they are on the same network sub net that wasn't very difficult. I still need to double check and make sure that the connection is working for her. We hid the shared drive with a $ sign. It is a bit of a problem for myself to not have access to these machines without using the users password. Since these are not networked machines perhaps I will ask Linda to set me up with an administrator account.
